How I lost myself in the passion of Original Music......And made a Website About it
I live in Beautiful British Columbia, Canada. I'm a pretty laid back guy, which most people around me are fairly envious of. Probably because I don't sweat the little things, I focus on God (Christian), and I have some direction in my life, in which my goal is to become a professional musician (Not unlike yourself?). I play [Lead Guitar/Vocals], [Bass], and [Piano] in my Band (A Human Nothing) with Two other guys (Michael Schellenberg and Jet Crosley), and I enjoy every damn minute of it.
As you've guessed, music is a big part of my life. I'm always looking forward to that next equipment purchase. I've been a big fan of the Bose L1 PA system, which has treated me like the Son of Krypton. My next purchase I think is going to be the Steinberger ZT3, which has a Locking Tremolo (So you can transpose up or down 2 half-steps without changing any fingering. Of course, this habit generally leaves my Pocket quite dry, in the Financial sense. Of course, I've got a little trick up my sleeve. My Secret? I love the fact that I can get up in the morning, and at my leisure I can work on my site, slowly creating a successful online business. I didn't get into the online marketing scene so I could run around without sleeping for a week because I was so stressed out about some business deal or something. I did it because I love being my own boss. I love being able to take the day off if I feel the need to play some games or spend time with Friends and Family. Being able to take my work anywhere on my laptop, and I feel comfortable working. I love being able to bring quality content to people like you on the web, and I get my pride from the fact that my site is totally unique. I guess that has given me a small ego problem. But knowing that you have some of the highest quality tabs, or the only full De-loused in the Comatorium Album Interpretation on the internet does that to you. What does this have to do with my trick? It's the Solution I use for a few of my problems. The Solution... ...Is fairly simple. You spend a ton of your time searching for a job that will be profitable, but most of us Forget that the best job is doing something that you love. My Passion is Music. And that's how I make my living. "How do you get so lucky that you can make your living doing something you love?" I don't believe in Luck. If you believe in Luck you're a sucker. I believe that people create their futures depending on how much of their own lives they're willing to live up to. I believe in living mine the best I can, and I don't want to waste my life doing a crappy office job, working for someone who doesn't care about my future or family. I want to live doing something I love, and changing other peoples lives in the process. StumbleUpon. It brings you to wicked pages on the internet. After a few hours of my daily routine "Stumbling" I came upon SBI. SBI stands for "Site Build It!" and helps you to turn any hobby, passion or skill into a viable online business. You probably don't even realize that almost any topic can make money with a website. A Website? I'm pretty good with computers, but I'm no genius and I certainly don't know how to make a website. “Every artist was first an amateur.” The thing I really liked about SBI! was that it's so simple. You don't need any web experience, you don't need a degree in marketing or some flashy thing to sell. They take you by the hand and teach you step by step how to use everything. You could be making a Web site like I am only about something YOU love. They teach you how to find the Perfect topic for your site, get people coming to it, and eventually how to turn it into a profitable, Honest to Goodness Money Making Web Business. The Website really helps me focus on my future (Having ADD is an obstacle that makes this type of focus difficult) and gives me an opportunity to share the knowledge I've gained with others. I get the opportunity to connect with others who love the same type of music I do. I now spend time researching bands, which has helped me grow as a Music writer as well. I guess THAT would be my biggest highlight of my site. I've grown so much as a Music/Lyric writer because of this website. I've forced myself to grow and open my mind to even bigger concepts than I was aware of. This type of influence has directly influenced the Concept Album I've been working on for my Band. This is the type of influence you could expect if you went through the same experience I'm going through right now.
