The Raconteurs released "Broken Boy Soldiers
" on May 15, 2006. In the Album Jack White takes his first true steps away from the White Stripes and creates a brand new sound with a Superband that lacks the "Temporarity".
Broken Boy Soldiers starts with the "really freakin' well known" song "Steady as She Goes". The blending of vocal harmonies creates the first bit of "ingenuity" as it showcases the two very different, and very unique, voices of Jack White and Brendan Benson.
This ingenuity only becomes more apparent as the album continues. Using such instruments as the "Stylophone" and distorted voices, the entire experience is a unique one that won't be forgotten too easily.
"Broken Boy Soldiers
" has a lot of good hits, but there are 2 or 3 songs that aren't all that great, which is something you wouldn't expect from a group of such high class musicians (Of course, you would expect this from many mainstream Artists).
Despite the few less desirable tracks, the album gives a great taste of what is to come from the Raconteurs in the future, and is definitely worth a buy.
