Angelika & Demons - Easy Death

by Danny
(LA)

Easy Death

Easy Death

“EASY DEATH” is the debut (demo) album from goth metal project “” with sound influenced by Evanescence and Nightwish with Tarja Turunen.

Beautiful pensive piano ballads with angelic voice alternate heavy guitar riffs and powerful opera singing. Strings and choirs create a special gothic atmosphere.

At first I have heard Love never dies and took it as one of Nightwish's songs with ex-vocalist Tarja Turunen. The strong opera soprano, heavy sound of guitars, chorales, the classical, very beautiful and haunting tune... this could be just another masterpiece of Tuomas Holopainen!

I was amazed to learn that it is not Nightwish but Angelika & Demons, and fell in love with the song and the strong female singer's voice. Especially I liked lyrics of the chorus "Don't call me mad You just don't understand Love never dies It's not the end".

Then I have purchased the album Easy Death and really enjoyed it, all of the songs are awesome.

Piano ballads Angel, Close to Heaven, Maria, Easy Death remind me of Evanescence. Vocal is different of course but lovely and angelic.

As for heavy songs as Requiem, Love never dies, Easy Death (heavy version) and Dead Night they are powerful, with strong dramatic opera soprano.

Requiem is surprisingly optimistic track, very close to classical music.

I really liked the Gothic metal ballad The Earth, especially the amazing doom-like keyboard intro.

Lyrics of the album are all about lost love and death, beautiful, stirring and moving.

So the album Easy Death is very interesting as it combines traits of the best metal bands and at the same time sounds original and fresh.

Featured Band:

Gorillaz

Gorillaz is a super classic band, and for a good reason. With some of the best combinations of electronic music, featuring artists from Mos Def, to MF Doom, it's a really incredible band.

Their newest album, "The Fall", was even recording entirely on an iPad! I highly recommend they become an integral part to your music library, and I've been listening to them for the last month straight (Religiously).
