Richard D James (Aphex Twin) is one of the big influencers in electronic music. He's less of a musician and more of a programmer though, with a big background in engineering.
A good example is the contest he won when he was 11 years old:
"When I was 11, I won 50 pounds in a competition for writing this program that made sound on a ZX81. You couldn't make sound on a ZX81, but I played around with machine code and found some codes that retuned the TV signal so that it made this really weird noise when you turned the volume up."
This is the type of creativity that permeates his music. A pure fusion of computers and music.
His music continues to influence electronic music around him, and I consider him one of the most important pioneers of electronic music. He practically invented it, being active in electronic music since 1985. Even Radiohead claims to have been influenced by him.
He also thinks it's hilarious to put his "30-days-of-night" face on children (shown above).
My name is Andrew Muller. I love creative art, music, television shows, movies, video games, and a good story.
If you had to find me somewhere, you would probably find me down at O'neils home cooking eating an organic sweet-potato bun breakfast sandwich with ham.
Among my friends, it's a "Muller Classic Move" to eat Mcdonald's at 2am because it's cheap and open 24/7. The joke here is that I'm an idiot.
I play drums, guitar, piano, and I write & perform music for My Goal Is Telepathy. Take a listen to the latest sound here.
