Arcade Fire

The Arcade Fire
A Montreal based indie band, Arcade Fire delivers an introspective approach to music.
The cynical yet somehow optimistic tone of their music represents the all too familiar dichotomy of knowing things are awful but somehow moving forward. The prevailing dark atmosphere of their work lays the foundation for sincerity.
When you listen to a track, it actually takes you through a story; you don't revisit the same tireless framework of popular music that seems to show its face again and again: Intro. Verse. Hook. Chorus. Repeat.
Unlike other bands, they contain orchestral motifs that appear at perfect moments, and exemplify a sound skill in composition.
The band has released three albums, all of which are superb. I would recommend listening to 2005's debut album Funeral if interested. The inspiration for many of the tracks came from the odd amount of deaths the band experienced the previous year and the aftermath of dealing with them.
In this particular album, the music though emotional, never reaches that point of overkill; it always maintains a lean, focused, attitude with a direction and a purpose.
In a way, this is a concept album without sequential importance. You can pick up any of the tracks and be on page with what is being said, but the track still carries the overall direction of the album.
In a time where anyone can become famous for complete worthlessness, it's hard to discern true art from catchy sing-a-longs. I believe this band has a lot to offer, and will make an impact on musical culture in the years to come.
Their music resonates with acknowledgment and acceptance, certain qualities that are so scarce, they seem to be forgotten.

I really liked your in-depth view on the band. I haven't gotten too much into them myself (Although I've given Funeral, and their new album a listen or 2), but I definitely plan on it.
