My Experience:
I actually discovered "As Cities Burn" through that "People who bought this also bought:" thing on Amazon.com.
I was looking at MeWithoutYou albums, which they surprisingly have a similar sound to (Not).
I think the thing that really draws me to this band is just their altogether tight indie sound. They aren't incredibly experimental, but they aren't lame and generic either. There is a really neat balance in between that just flows really well.
Noticeable Traits:
Very Indie Sound

Gorillaz is a super classic band, and for a good reason. With some of the best combinations of electronic music, featuring artists from Mos Def, to MF Doom, it's a really incredible band.
Their newest album, "The Fall", was even recording entirely on an iPad! I highly recommend they become an integral part to your music library, and I've been listening to them for the last month straight (Religiously).
