My Blurb/Rant About Battles (Why I Like Them):
I've been listening to Battles since their 2007 album "Mirrored" was their only full length. They have of course since released the album "Gloss Drop", although the removal of Tyundai Braxton has certainly left a hit on them (They are still an incredible band though!)
With some sort of Childish Toy Pop, Battles seems to hit light heartedness in the same chord as complexity. Using variations of loops, samples, effect-manipulated vocals, and all sorts of other techniques, seeing Battles live is a performance that you won't want to miss if they come to town.
My first experience was with the song "Tonto", and was immediately drawn in to all that Battles had to offer. I think they have a little bit of something for everyone.
For those that are big into just the "Hits", Gloss Drop will have plenty of Vocal driven singles to keep you enthralled in the catchy tunes.
If you are a music elitist who only wants the cream of the crop, you've found them. Battles is everything you've been looking for.
If you need a push to get yourself out of a depression, Battles can probably do that. It's some incredibly fulfilling music, with driving drums and catchy vocals.

Gorillaz is a super classic band, and for a good reason. With some of the best combinations of electronic music, featuring artists from Mos Def, to MF Doom, it's a really incredible band.
Their newest album, "The Fall", was even recording entirely on an iPad! I highly recommend they become an integral part to your music library, and I've been listening to them for the last month straight (Religiously).
