Biphasic Sleep For Musicians Day 6

The morning of my day 6 biphasic sleep has easily been my easiest morning since I started the experiment. It took only 30-40 minutes before I wasn't too groggy anymore, which is a pretty big bonus.

If you want to take marketing your music to another level, then I can't recommend enough John Oszajca's music marketing manifesto. My favorite aspect of his complete program was his stance on email marketing, where he really leverages the that "1000 true fans" philosophy.

His website is a bit hokey (Flaming guitars? Seriously?), but his program really shows independant artists how to get a leg-up on signed artists.

I did get a little bit extra sleep last night, so that might have contributed, but I also didn't go to bed until 3am, so go figure.

  • 8:15am - I slept for 5 hours instead of 4.5 last night. I actually found myself waking up in the middle of the night, which is very weird considering that I know my body is very tired and needs all the sleep it can get.

It was very easy to get back to sleeping.

I got up fairly easily, and I don't feel as tired as yesterday. I would like to start getting to bed earlier though, as 3am is a pretty late bedtime. 1am or 1:30am would both be really great bed times.

  • 10am - I feel fairly awake at this point. Today is turning out to be a pretty aware day for me. It's definitely the easiest day that I've had on this sleep schedule.
  • 3pm - I've been helping a friend move all day, so I'm getting pretty exhausted. Nothing a smoothie can't fix though!
  • 10:40pm - I haven't been able to take my nap until now because of the moving. It's rather unfortunate to go outside of the schedule so much, but there was not much I could do. I go to bed for my 1.5 hour sleep and...

Day 7

...I slept in until 7:10am! That's a full 8 hours!

My alarm must have malfunctioned, or I slept through it. Either way, I overslept way too much. 

I would definitely say this is a product of me taking my nap way too late. But there's not much I can do about it now, other than to simply continue on with the biphasic sleep pattern.

I'll take my nap today as usual, and then tomorrow I'll wake up early after my 4.5 hour sleep.

Right now, at 9:30am, I'm actually feeling more tired than I was yesterday. Maybe my body is now interpreting an 8 hour sleep as oversleeping? I definitely don't feel as alert as I was yesterday, which seems very much the opposite of what it should be.

I actually feel incredibly guilty about oversleeping, but I'm going to just do my best to fight that feeling, and allow myself to get back into the flow of things. It really is unfortunate timing though...

I'll just let it pass, and allow tomorrow to be another day of interesting Biphasic sleep.

12:45pm - I decided to try and take my nap early, and just like in day 2, I only fell asleep for maybe 5 minutes before waking up. That created a fair amount of frustration for me, but there was not much I could do. I never was able to nap at all today, but I'm hoping I'll be able to tomorrow.

I'm thinking that maybe the naps and noon might not work out, but I might try it again once more, this time with earplugs in to get rid of any outside noise that might disrupt my sleep.
