My Blurb/Rant About Coldplay (Why I Like Them):
I'm pretty sure Coldplay was voted like, the #1 band in the world or something like that.
Well, maybe they have the most fans, but I wouldn't really agree with that statement at all.
Nevertheless, they are a good band and worth listening.
When I was a kid I was forced into taking piano lessons, learning such contemporary masterpieces as "Hot Cross Buns".
I hated it, and quit as soon as my parents gave me the chance.
As I grew up a bit, I was inspired by Coldplay's album "A Rush Of Blood To The Head". I got their music book (I must have been 14 or 15 at the time) and learned over half of the album.
So rule #1 about Coldplay: They will inspire you to learn the piano! Plus, chicks dig guys who can play Coldplay.
In any case, if you somehow haven't heard them before, Coldplay is a chill band with high falcetto vocals and paint on all their instruments.
You could call it soft rock if you like.
Their best album is easily their first: Parachutes. The thing is a masterpiece, and tops anything else they've written to date.
In their newer stuff (Now that they have buttloads of money) they make use of a bunch of less "rocklike" instruments such as the Timpani. It's decent stuff!
Pretty much anyone can get into Coldplay, that is, if they aren't already sick of hearing their latest single played 26 times a day on the radio. That literally does happen.

But don't worry, it will cost you nothing!
This 'small percentage' comes out of the store’s pocket, not yours — the music won’t cost you a penny more.
In fact, one of the easiest ways to support this site is to buy anything from iTunes or Amazon (just make sure you use the Amazon search box or iTunes link below):
I work hundreds and hundreds of hours to put this site together for you, so buying your tunes (or anything) from these links is really the easiest and most effective way for you to support the growth of this site.
This, in turn, allows me to spend more time doing research and finding new, unique artists for you to listen to!
And I can't be anything but incredibly appreciative of that.
If you would like to support this site (more than just buying your music from iTunes/Amazon, then I recommend you read my "Support This Site" page. I have a bunch of different methods that you can use to support TheRealMusician.com, which in turn enables me to write more and more great content for this site!
Remember, all of the information on this site is 100% free, so supporting my site is a really great way to give back (No one hired me to write all of this, I do it because I want to see the musical world grow in a positive way).
Andrew Muller is the Editor of TheRealMusician.com. He lives in Chilliwack, BC, Canada and spends much of his extra time writing articles, playing and writing music, setting up and playing concerts and demolishing video games.
Gorillaz is a super classic band, and for a good reason. With some of the best combinations of electronic music, featuring artists from Mos Def, to MF Doom, it's a really incredible band.
Their newest album, "The Fall", was even recording entirely on an iPad! I highly recommend they become an integral part to your music library, and I've been listening to them for the last month straight (Religiously).
