The Dirty Projectors Dirty Projectors

The Dirty Projectors BandMy Genre: Technical Indie Pop What's this?

iTunes Genre: Alternative

Who's in the band?

-David Longstreth on [Musical Direction].

-Amber Coffman on [Vocals] and [Guitars].

-Angel Deradoorian on [Vocals] , [Keyboard] , [Samples] , [Guitar] and [Bass].

-Haley Dekle on [Vocals].

-Brian Mcomber on [Drums].

-Nat Baldwin on [Bass].

My Experience:

Bitte Orca. This was the first Dirty Projectors album that I ever heard, and certainly wasn't the last.

My Drummer, Jet, showed this band to me. Their combination of pop, and complex rhythms and chords really spoke to me.

It's a band that can be appealing to almost anyone, including the hardcore elite crowd who needs music to have a certain level of mathematical complexity to it.

And it's very emotional as well, so go for it.

Noticeable Traits:

  • Lot's of Acoustic Intro's
  • Quite Technical.
  • Very Poppy.
  • Great Female Vocals.

Featured Band:

Gorillaz

Gorillaz is a super classic band, and for a good reason. With some of the best combinations of electronic music, featuring artists from Mos Def, to MF Doom, it's a really incredible band.

Their newest album, "The Fall", was even recording entirely on an iPad! I highly recommend they become an integral part to your music library, and I've been listening to them for the last month straight (Religiously).
