My Blurb/Rant About Extra Life (Why I Like Them):Extra Life is the band that imprisons the creative mind of one of my favorite Vocalists to ever walk this planet: Charlie Looker. If you've ever heard a classically trained singer play with math-rock/avant-garde musicians before Extra Life, you can consider yourself a liar; it's never happened before. Obviously what I'm insinuating above, is that Charlie Looker is a classical-styled vocalist, combining some of the most creative (And sometimes catchy) vocal lines with crazy Avant-Garde music. You did get that, right? Use of electronic keys, violin, and saxophone are prevalent (I think they might even Auto-Tune the sax as an effect!).  Charlie Looker taught me that not ever y single vocal line has to be amazing and accessible; it can still be good without being catchy. He helped me get out of the little creative "Box" that I put over myself, and start being more confident in my vocal ability, even though I might not be the type of singer that American Idol would ogle at. Mind you, if you can't stand music that's different, Extra Life is NOT for you. They are crazy, the end. They are an important band to me. And even though I might not listen to them too much, I can't tell you how many vocal lines have been inspired by his creative freedom. Thank you Charlie Looker!
