If you haven't already heard the album "Hot Fuss", then you have most likely been held against your will by a banana-wielding male nurse for the last ten years, in which case I understand your predicament.
The rest of us have most likely heard the triple platinum record already, and I will admit that it is a decent album.
For a band that is so mainstream (I said Triple Platinum, did I not?), there is quite an alternative/indie feel to the sound that gives Hot Fuss it's "Oomphf".
From the western-styled "All these thing's that I've done", to the horns and trumpets in "Believe Me Natalie", there is at least a decent amount of variety to be found within the confines of this musical piece.
The Killers - Believe Me Natalie
The above song (Believe Me Natalie) is definitely my favorite song on the album. There was just something about...the entire feel of the song that I felt was worth mentioning.
Set List
Jenny Was a Friend of Mine
Mr. Brightside
Smile Like You Mean It
Somebody Told Me
All These Things That I've Done
Andy, You're a Star

Everything Will Be Alright
Another great track is "Andy You're A Star". There is something about the harmonies (Which are precedent throughout the entire album by the way), and the way they blend with the song that is very...laid back?
I'm not really sure how to put it, but I think if you gave it a listen you would get what I am going for!

Overall, Hot Fuss is a pleasant experience. Yeah, I think there is more they could have done with the album, but especially when you put it in comparison with their newer stuff ("Day & Age"...what a disaster...) you will find that Hot Fuss really shines.
