JoJo Nichols-"Vertigo" ****

by Christina Cabella
(Manhattan, New York)

JoJo Nichols

JoJo Nichols "Vertigo"

One word describes the CD "Vertigo" from JoJo Nichols... AWESOME! The CD kicks off with a great track, "Blinding Lights", that I suspect will be heard on radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. It's a really nice track.

"Vertigo has a nicely varied, mix of 10 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly gifted artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are his own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They’re all here.

If you’re a JoJo Nichols fan, or just a fan of Pop music, this is a CD your collection simply should not be without.

While this entire album is outstanding the truly standout tunes are track 5 - When The Moon, track 10 - Faded Picture, and track 03 - When She Walked By.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore ...as in "Stuck On REpeat" is track 6 - The Makings of You. Good stuff!

Featured Band:

Gorillaz

Gorillaz is a super classic band, and for a good reason. With some of the best combinations of electronic music, featuring artists from Mos Def, to MF Doom, it's a really incredible band.

Their newest album, "The Fall", was even recording entirely on an iPad! I highly recommend they become an integral part to your music library, and I've been listening to them for the last month straight (Religiously).
