The Atlanta-based progressive-metal band "Mastodon" are really something special. Every one in the band are doing some vocals. They are experimenting with odd time-signatures and other stuff.
A great example is "Siberian Divide". Cedric Bixler-Zavala from Mars Volta (Love'em) is contributing with some vocals in the song(chorus parts, like the one @ 1:45:
Mastodon also likes doing concept albums, for example, "Siberian Divide" are part of a concept-album about "blood mountain". Another concept-album of theirs, is "Leviathan" which is based on Herman Melvilles story about Moby Dick. One song from that album are "Iron Tusk".
Andrew Says: I Love this Band! I have actually been listening to Mastodon for quite a while, but I didn't realize that Cedric had done singing for them (I only own "Crack The Skye").
