My Experience:
My friend Jake Wiens first referred me to Mewithoutyou. He showed me the song "January 1979".
At first I was a bit skeptical, but I decided to buy an album off of the Soundike Music Shop (No I guess it isn't super legit, but at the time I thought I wasn't getting ripped off!).
Well...right from the first song off the album "Brother, Sister" I was taken.
I loved it, and to this day I still listen to this band.
I'm a fan of the way he "Speak Sings" and the lyrics are simply phenomenal.
Noticeable Traits
Aaron often just speaks for his vocals
Very refined sound.
If you took A Distorted Guitar and a Clean Guitar, directly in the middle would be the tone of the band. Not too heavy, but not without energy either.
Use of strange instruments, such as the accordion, while still very listenable.

Gorillaz is a super classic band, and for a good reason. With some of the best combinations of electronic music, featuring artists from Mos Def, to MF Doom, it's a really incredible band.
Their newest album, "The Fall", was even recording entirely on an iPad! I highly recommend they become an integral part to your music library, and I've been listening to them for the last month straight (Religiously).
