Porcupine Tree Fear of a Blank Planet Review Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet

Album Review

I can't even begin to tell you how much "Fear of a Blank Planet " blew me away.

I could start at the song Fear of a Blank Planet, where Steven Wilson paints a picture of our society, our selfishness, the mindlessness of television, how we escape our lives in prescription drugs, and nearly every other thing wrong with our society that an "Existentialist" view might see.

Or I could start at the 17 minute long epic, Anesthetize, which not only has shin-kicking incredible lyrics, but builds as a song in such a way that the listener might simply have Diarrhea.

Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet

Take a moment to watch "Fear of a Blank Planet " in the video above.

I know it seems like I am giving the album a lot of praise. And I will say this:

It takes a while to get used to.

I had to listen to the album several times before I really liked, and several more before I really got it.

Set List

  • Fear of a Blank Planet
  • My Ashes
  • Anesthetize
  • Sentimental
  • Way Out of Here
  • Sleep Together

  • One really sentimental song is "Way Out Of Here". It describes the struggle of losing love, but as usual Wilson paints such a picture that you have shivers going down your spine.

The song reminded me of many different things from my childhood, and the loss of my first love. Listen to it!

All I can really say is...Definitely worth buying!

It's amazingfullness will make you cry, Like a small infant or toddler.

If you haven't done so already:

    Featured Band:

    Gorillaz

Gorillaz is a super classic band, and for a good reason. With some of the best combinations of electronic music, featuring artists from Mos Def, to MF Doom, it's a really incredible band.

Their newest album, "The Fall", was even recording entirely on an iPad! I highly recommend they become an integral part to your music library, and I've been listening to them for the last month straight (Religiously).
