What Makes The Arcade Fire Such A Leader In The Indie Scene?

Songs That Will Get You Hooked On Them

TheRealMusician Recommends:

If you want to take marketing your music to another level, then I can't recommend enough John Oszajca's music marketing manifesto. My favorite aspect of his complete program was his stance on email marketing, where he really leverages the that "1000 true fans" philosophy.

His website is a bit hokey (Flaming guitars? Seriously?), but his program really shows independant artists how to get a leg-up on signed artists.

What Bands Are They Similar To?

If you like any of the following bands, you will probably like The Arcade Fire.

  • Sufjan Stevens
  • Animal Collective
  • Bon Iver
  • Bonobo

More About The Arcade Fire

The Arcade Fire is a fairly "world-renowned" indie band. They've been featured on huge festivals like Coachella, and don't seem to be letting up at all.

I first remember seeing the "Power Out" music video on TV when I was a kid. I found the animation interesting and the tune was creepy for some strange reason.

After that I kind of forgot about them until a few years later, in which I realized that they were an incredibly solid band. Most of their tunes (bar a few) are top-notch, and each album they release has a minimum of 3 quality singles that you kind of want to keep on repeat.

Hell, even my parents really like them, which either surprises the hell out of me, or tells me that something might be wrong with my musical taste.

In any case, even if there is something wrong with me, I'll continue on from my standpoint of musical delusion.

The Arcade Fire is one of those "must-haves" for your musical library. It has enough creative, artistic, yet mainstream appeal that pretty much anyone will be able to appreciate them.

About The Writer

My name is Andrew Muller. I love creative art, music, television shows, movies, video games, and a good story.

If you had to find me somewhere, you would probably find me down at O'neils home cooking eating an organic sweet-potato bun breakfast sandwich with ham.

Among my friends, it's a "Muller Classic Move" to eat Mcdonald's at 2am because it's cheap and open 24/7. The joke here is that I'm an idiot.

I play drums, guitar, piano, and I write & perform music for My Goal Is Telepathy. Take a listen to the latest sound here.
