They've featured the singer from Mastodon, as well as Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Fantomas, Countless Other Bands) for a whole EP (My favourite DEP album is the one they did with Mike Patton).
Heck, they even use a Theremin at one point in their "Ire Works" album.
If you are looking for something to give you energy, and feel that you can handle it being frantic, then DEP is for you.
Some of their more "accessible" rock-type songs have been featured on TV in shows like CSI. Anyone who likes intense rock can get into that.
Their more hard-core music? Well…
...that might be more for people who are intense into metal.
There's definitely a lot of "poppy" vibes off of them though. All their riffs are just...catchy! Even their most ridiculously choppy math-metal riffs have some sort of groove to them.
Listen to them below! Especially 'Fix Your Face' to see what I'm talking about catchy Jazz metal riffs (About halfway through the song).

Gorillaz is a super classic band, and for a good reason. With some of the best combinations of electronic music, featuring artists from Mos Def, to MF Doom, it's a really incredible band.
Their newest album, "The Fall", was even recording entirely on an iPad! I highly recommend they become an integral part to your music library, and I've been listening to them for the last month straight (Religiously).
