Tom Waits

Tom Waits

A poet and a visionary.

His song titles alone, (Box Spring Hog, Walkin Spanish Down The Hall, Little Blue Gun, Jockey Full Of Bourbon, 16 Shells From A 30.06) are wonderful and only surpassed by his consistently profound lyrics.

Definitely.

Tom Waits is one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century.

He combines polka, jazz, country and blues with an experimentalism bordering on industrial music.

His epic concept albums and sordid stories are delivered with a voice rivaling Mike Patton's in originality.

Half jazzy croon, half death metal growl, the only comparisons I could think to make would be Howlin' Wolf and Captain Beefheart, yet his musical style experiments so far outside of any conventional idiom he is impossible to categorize.

About The Writer

My name is Andrew Muller. I love creative art, music, television shows, movies, video games, and a good story.

If you had to find me somewhere, you would probably find me down at O'neils home cooking eating an organic sweet-potato bun breakfast sandwich with ham.

Among my friends, it's a "Muller Classic Move" to eat Mcdonald's at 2am because it's cheap and open 24/7. The joke here is that I'm an idiot.

I play drums, guitar, piano, and I write & perform music for My Goal Is Telepathy. Take a listen to the latest sound here.
