You Me At Six - Sinners Never Sleep
by Abbie Sneddon
Sinners Never Sleep
In making this album, You Me At Six wanted to incorporate newer, heavier influences, while keeping their old fans, and remaining accessible. It's fair to say they have been successful. The band, (for those of you that don't know, comprises of Josh Franceschi (vocals), Max Helyer (rhythm guitar, vocals), Christopher Miller (lead guitar), Matt Barnes (bass) and Daniel Flint (drums, percussion), and are a British rock band who formed back in 2004.
Sinners Never Sleep (the band's third studio album) was released on October 3rd 2011, and reached number 3 in the Official UK Album Charts, which is much higher than their previous releases ‘Take Off Your Colours’ and ‘Hold Me Down’.
The three singles which have been released from the album so far are 'Loverboy', 'Bite My Tongue' featuring Oli Sykes (Bring Me the Horizon vocalist), and ‘No One Does It Better’, my personal favourite.
Songs such as 'Reckless' and 'Loverboy' embody everything that fans know and love about this band, with their catchy lyrics and explosive choruses, while 'Time Is Money' (featuring Winston McCall of Parkway Drive) and 'Bite My Tongue' (featuring Oli Sykes, BMTH)bring something much heavier to the table, adding both variety, and attracting new audiences.
Slower songs such as 'When I Was Younger' and 'Crash' are more accessible, even than YMAS's usual pop-punk/rock offerings, with their meaningful lyrics and heartfelt vocals, making them very relate-able.
The Deluxe CD/DVD Edition also includes a video documentary entitled 'Bite My Tongue' which charts the progress of the band, from the very beginning, up until now, and is great for fans. I loved it!
I had this album pre-ordered for months, and my expectations were sky high, yet I was not disappointed.
Overall, the album a definite must have for any YMAS fan, or music fan in general. It is by far their best album so far, but I think it is fair to say that we have not yet heard the last, or indeed the best, of what this band have to offer.

About The Writer
My name is Andrew Muller. I love creative art, music, television shows, movies, video games, and a good story.
If you had to find me somewhere, you would probably find me down at O'neils home cooking eating an organic sweet-potato bun breakfast sandwich with ham.
Among my friends, it's a "Muller Classic Move" to eat Mcdonald's at 2am because it's cheap and open 24/7. The joke here is that I'm an idiot.
I play drums, guitar, piano, and I write & perform music for My Goal Is Telepathy. Take a listen to the latest sound here.
